Strict GSA Regulatory Guidance

Prohibited Vehicle Imports

Under the GSA Administrative Framework starting 1st October 2026, used vehicles under any of the following conditions are strictly prohibited from importation into Ghana:

Major Salvage Damage

1. Major Salvage Damage

Includes vehicles submerged/flood-damaged, burnt by fire, scrap/dismantling status, or severe chassis/safety cage damage (broken, bent, or twisted).

Over-Aged Vehicles

2. Over-Aged Vehicles

Any used vehicle exceeding 15 years from its date of manufacture is prohibited from entering Ghana.

3. Assembled from Parts

Vehicles constructed or reassembled from loose spare parts, compromised shells, or piecemeal components.

Non-km/h Speedometers

4. Non-km/h Speedometers

Vehicles lacking speedometer readings standardly displayed in kilometers per hour (km/hr).
